Sample Day

Day 2 – Called Out of Darkness

Scripture:

1 Peter 2:9 – “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

Devotional:

We all have a past. There are moments in our lives we wish we could erase—times we felt lost, broken, or unworthy. But here’s the beautiful truth: God called us out of that darkness. We are no longer defined by our past mistakes, failures, or struggles. Instead, we are chosen by Him.

Being called out of darkness means stepping into a new identity. When we accept Christ, we don’t just receive forgiveness—we receive purpose. We become part of His family, His royal priesthood. That means we aren’t just saved from something; we are saved for something. We are meant to declare His praises—to live in a way that reflects His goodness and shines His light to others.

Maybe you struggle with feeling unworthy or not good enough. The enemy loves to remind us of our failures and whisper lies that we are not worthy of God’s love. But God’s truth says otherwise. You are His. You belong to Him. Your identity is found in His love, not in your past.

As you walk through today, remind yourself that you are no longer in darkness. You have been chosen, redeemed, and called into His light. Live with confidence in that truth.
